Post Fund Raiser for the club, Auxiliary & SALs. Come for dinner
As always thank you to all of those who volunteered your time cooking and working on repairs to our building. Also thanks to the people who prepared 40 lunches and spent 6 hours of their Saturday afternoon at the V.A. Hospital helping patients get out of their room to play Bingo. It was a heartwarming experience.

Chaplain's Report -
Our deepest sympathies are extended to longtime Auxiliary member Julie Glinski and her family relative to the death of her former husband and father of her children, Craig Glinski, who was killed by an SUV while attempting to cross a highway in Escondido. Memorial services were held at Post 416 on August 26.
Craig was the son of long time members and officers of both the Post and Auxiliary Morgan and Marian Glinski.
Bob Giguere is continuing chemo treatment for ocular cancer. We pray for a full and complete recovery.
Roy Blackburn is recovering from various surgeries and seems to be coming along OK. We also pray for his complete and full recovery.
Member Ralph Loller, husband of Auxiliary member Marge Loller is I a retirement home battling Alzheimer’s; he is doing as well as can be expected. Marge reports to me that he is hanging in there. We wish him well.
Member Don Kellough is hanging in there also with a touch of Alzheimer’s. We wish him the best and hope he soon can resume playing “poker” with his friends who think of him all the time.
If any of you hear or learn of any health problems or death within the Post 416 Legion family, please call me at (760) 753-4839.
Perry Comeau, Chaplain

President's Report -
RECYCLE! I'd like to follow in Shirley Reeves footsteps and make recycling a way of life for our Post. Her efforts with cans and clothing from the high school gyms have helped our Post with the purchase of some special items we sorely needed. Let's keep it going with saving paper items and ink cartridges etc. Let's keep a box marked recycle at home and put in items you no longer need or want for our Bazaar in November or contribute to the local resource center. Bring a plastic container to dinner to take home leftovers. "Say hello to a newcomer or thank you to a fellow Post Member for a job well-done." (From who packed your Parachute)
Our VA lunch and Bingo at the Vets Hospital served 45 people. The men really appreciated Bob Wilson's and Charlie Caldwell's attendance. A special thanks to all the gals for working this yearly function
I am re-doing the wall of fame due to many requests. Please keep your hands off and suggestions coming...I enjoy doing it! Thanks in advance.
Merry Culhane, President
