2nd Vice Commander's Report

Tuesday night music this month (@6pm) will be provided by Jus' Friends.

Since we have a friend who's no longer welcome, I have  made some changes. No one will be allowed in the cooking area unless they have a food handler's card, not even dishwashers. I have had a lot of people take the test and I want to thank them. Some say they just won't volunteer and that's exactly what our friend wants. I can give the test - just contact me to schedule a day/night and time. The test takes very little time.

Don't miss our country hoedown and chili cook-off on December 12th. The whole day should be fun.

Bill Hicks, 2nd Vice Commander

1st Vice President's Report -

Ladies, we are getting close to our Early Bird deadline (November 7, 2009) for paying your Auxiliary dues.  In order to get your free dinner that night, you must have your 2010 card.  Kent Moser will be preparing a wonderful dinner for us.   Please send me your $15 along with any of your Juniors of $5 and you will have an Early Bird stamp on your card.  I will accept dues the night of the dinner also.   If you can't make the dinner, I still need you to send me your dues.  We are at 68% now and should be 100% by December.  Our goal is 165.

Thank you to all those that attended my "sold out" manicotti dinner  October 17th.  Profits went to the "Post".  Another thank you to all those that helped me pull it off.  We always need volunteer cooks, so please contact our 2nd Vice Presidents if you want to jump in and have some fun cooking for our large Post/Auxiliary/S.A.L. members.  Volunteerism is our "life blood" for "Can Do Post 416" and we have many programs to support throughout the year.  We are half way through and still have much to do for our veterans, children & youth, and community.

Once again, we are having our annual  fundraiser from now until 2nd week of December.  Our "wounded warriors" at Balboa Hospital  have asked us again to supply them with brand new white fluffy bath towels.  If you can't shop, one of us will take your donation and shop for you.  There are over 300+ injured so our goal is close to 600.  We did it last year and we can do it again this year.  They don't ask for much and deserve more, so please, start bringing the towels in and we will make sure they are red ribbon wrapped for delivery to the hospital.  One, two or more towels from everyone will help us meet our goal.  We have graciously accepted the invitation to go down and decorate the Christmas trees on all decks of the hospital.

Please support our Post in all ways.  The holiday season is approaching fast and we have many reasons to help others at this time , especially our Veterans.  Wishing all of you a Happy & Joyous Thanksgiving, from Mac, and yours truly,

Roxene McGrory, 1st Vice and Membership

I want to Thank everyone that played in the Auxiliary tournament. I think we all had a good time. It was great to have Darren Bennett and his son Tom join us.  One of our youngest Auxiliary members, Melody played in her first tournament and she had a great time.  We did not have as good of turn out as I would have like, but we still made a few bucks for our General Fund.

Thank You, Thank You, to all my volunteers . I can’t mention all of you, but you know who you are. Also I do want to Thank Brad Chill for going up and down 101 getting many Gift Certificate and other goodies!!!!
