Commander's Comments -

Wow, what a whirlwind month. The Post's new By-Laws have been approved by the Membership. They will be mailed to State for approval, no later than 17 April 09. My profound thanks to Darrell Hill, Bill Hicks, Perry Comeau and all of YOU who made and or submitted suggestions. The star in these past two month's was Cris Hicks. Why?, Cris acted as the Administrative Assistant, who typed and then re-typed, corrected our spelling, inserted punctuation, crossed the I's and dotted the T's., read and then re-read these future By-Laws. Well Done, well done.

Over the past 2 month's, we have been able to nominate a well versed group of Candidate's who will run for elected Post position's. Now it's your turn! Our polls will open May 13th, 2009 at 1:00 PM, 1300 hours, and continue until 6:00 PM, 1800 hours. Results will be announced at our General Membership meeting no later than 7:00 PM, 1900 hours, the same day. The late Chicago Mayor, Richard Daly said, "Vote early and Vote often.", can't do that today, BUT YOU CAN VOTE!!!!!!!!!

For those of you who have experienced semi-cold beer and wine, fear not. If you are reading this, the problem should be solved. More on this next month.

Last, but certainly not least. Our Saturday night dinners continue to grow. For less than a Sawbuck, $10.00, 2 fives, 10 ones, YOU can eat, visit, maybe meet a new member. Try it, it's a fun, in-expensive night out.

Best of health and spirits to each of you.

Terry Sisson, Commander

1ST Vice Commander's Report -

I want to thank all of our Post 416 members for renewing their dues for the 2008-2009 year. I did not quite make my goal, I fell 13 members short of goal, but in these hard times I guess that is not so bad. In the next month or so you will start getting your renewal notice, your dues become due again in June. Remember our year runs from June thru May. Please remember your dues along with all the fund raisers we have are what give us the funds to help our Veterans and their families. At this time there are many of them out there needing our help. Thanks again, the veterans we helped also thank you.

Shirley Reeves, 1st Vice Commander

2nd Vice Commander's Report -

Well our old beer & wine cooler finally died. Our new cooler is in place and working great - after it got plugged in.

We tried something different with a Family Style dinner and it was great! Thanks Terry and Rosie.

We're going to start having tacos on Friday nights along with Tate's music. Come down and try one of Linda's tacos.

With all the good things come the bad with the loss of some special members. Life's not fair sometimes.

Bill Hicks, 2nd Vice Commander
