Commander's Comments -

Thanks to all who supported our “M*A*S*H 4077” costume party.  It was a success as a fund raiser as well as a FUN raiser.  Hopefully we can make it an annual event.

1ST Vice Commander's Report -

It has been a good year, we have gotten some things done around the post and hope to keep improving a  little each month.

We now have a slate of new officers, and I hope that all my members give them your support.

And last but not least, I will be going to convention middle of June and hope to pick up the 2010-2011 cards.  So I will be ready to get things going as soon as I get back.

Thanks for all your support this year.

Shirley Reeves, 1st Vice Commander

2nd Vice Commander's Report -

Well, the Post and the Club have had a good month. We have had a bunch of fun and were entertained with some great music.  We even had a geo-tracking group of 14-year-old "pirates" come in looking  for some of their birthday party "loot".  What a great feeling to share our Post.

Speaking of that, the Post is going to be a polling site again for the state primary election. Yea!

There's a great momentum going and, with our excellent slate of officers in the three organizations, we should be able to fly this year.  Danny is still doing his chili and soup on Fridays, we have bingo on Mondays and three-ball on Thursdays  -  a lot is going on in June, so check the calendar.  Our volunteers work hard to put on these events.   Your support for their efforts is so important.  Please come on in and join the fun.

Bill Hicks, 2nd Vice Commander

President's Report -

Our next meeting, June 1, we will be draping our charter for Thelma Marie Roy.

Thank you to all my officers.  Congratulations to Amy.  As our new president she will open your meeting in July.  She should have all your backing, as I will be Jr Past President.   I have enjoyed being your president.

Our installation of new officers will be June 5 @ 5:00.

Connielou Caldwell, President

Auxiliary President Elect:

This  will be a banner year for the Auxiliary!   We  will build on past successes and want to thank Connielou Caldwell for  leading us for the past year.  With a new list of officers, the Auxiliary will  continue  our focus on children of military fathers and mothers who have been deployed .  The Backpack project, food during the holidays,  and other new ones will highlight our year.  We will be helping the Post build support for  the military  who have served or are currently serving.

We are already attracting more people to musical events that Bill Hicks has been promoting.  Last night, I  met an active duty military soldier who was   from my home state of Hawaii.  By saying “aloha”  to him, I think he’ll come back and feel at home.    That same evening hosted  an impromptu session with  Tate’s musical friends  and teachers from the San Dieguito Junior High.   That fun spirit gave more awareness to the Post and potential  new  BINGO players. It was wonderful to see young  people become involved. That’s what the Post is all about.

We are proud to announce a team of officers with experience and some new blood.   We are building a list of volunteers to chair and be on committees.   We need women to cook, bake, shop, plan parties, decorate, write publicity, BINGO, Poppies, Girls State, Veterans projects, Legislation, Americanism, and come up with more ideas for us to tackle this year.  Please contact Amy Moser (amy@tristaff.com) or call (858) 342-8939 to volunteer.   If you raise your hand, we promise not to overwork you.

We are pleased  to announce our new officers  for 2010-2011!  Plus our new volunteers!

  • President:  Amy Moser
  • 1st Vice President:  Roxene McGrory
  • 2nd Vice President:  Kimberly St. John

  • Chaplain:  Anne Cassidy
  • Sgt. at Arms:  (opening for a volunteer)

    1st Vice President's Report -

Our membership year is coming to an end.  For those of you that still don't have your 2010 card, you can still send me your check to get it.  I am told our new membership cards (2011) should arrive after the Department Convention mid June.  The dues notices should be sent to all of you sometime in  July.  You are encouraged to start paying your  2011 dues immediately, and if you decide to do so, please date your checks with a  July date, otherwise, you can wait until you receive your notice.  Send your checks directly to me, as you did this past year, and include your membership number on your check.  Renewal dues are still at  $15 for Seniors and $5 for Juniors.  NEW members at  $20.

Please also advise me of your phone number and email address, so we can add to our roster and make sure you hear about functions, meetings, etc. Thanks to all of you for your support of  Unit 416.  I  look forward to serving you in the new year.

If you have any questions, I can be reached at 858-481-9518 or 858-587-7515.
