Commander's Comments -
Whew, the elections are over. New Post by-laws are in the hands of State for approval. New cooler is up and running and our first time as a Polling Place.
Post Election report. Congratulations to Bill Steinauer, Linda Piere and John Noonan. All 3 are, I think, first time elected. Bill as Commander, John and Linda to E-Board. Please give them the support that they will earn.
By-laws are what they are and we should hear from state soon.
The new COOLER! Really neat. Bill Hicks will give you the who's and the what's.
The Polling Place is monumental. Billy Wetzel planted the seed a number of years ago. Bill Hicks insisted that this be followed up, met with, talked to, listened to the County Registrar.

1ST Vice Commander's Report -
Well our membership has come to a close for the 2008-2009 season. But convention starts Jun 18th and that means the membership cards will be out again and the 2009-2010 will be on its way. And of course you will be hearing from me, as I have been re- elected to be the 1st Vice (membership chairman).
Thanks again for renewing your membership this year. We need all the help we can get, with all the veterans coming home and the ones still over there. There is so much demand for our help. And it seems that our help gets fewer and fewer every year, but the demand get bigger and bigger.
Also as the VA & R chairman, please don’t forget to start gathering up your clothing for stand down. That will the middle of July, we need you help.
Shirley Reeves, 1st Vice Commander

Longtime member Jess Gonzales passed away on March 26, 2009. Our heartfelt sympathies are with his family and friends.

I try hard to keep track of my flock, but sometimes I become unaware of the health of the troops. All of your help in this matter would be appreciated.

We have a new Auxiliary President. Connielou Caldwell was elected at our last
meeting. We also have elected Deborah Wren as Treasurer, Kate Steinauer as
Secretary, and Nancy
Kiesel
as Second Vice President. Roxene McGrory will remain as
1st Vice President. Sondra Mote will be Sgt. At Arms. I know everyone will
support these great ladies and make our Unit the best it can be. I want to
thank everyone who supported me the last two years. No one does this job alone,
it takes team work! Thank you, Louise, Amy, Shirley, Roxene, Connielou and
Sondra. Also a special thank you to Encarnita, Betsy, Ann & Hank, Dolly, Helga
and of course my sister Reyana.
I hope you made our PARTY WITH THE STARS the end of last month. Thank you again

Membership is ready to roll again. Dues are due 7/1/09 so please start sending your $15 in to me and please include your Juniors at $5. The Department of California for the Auxiliary has advised me that the membership cards may not be ready until September or October which puts us into 3 months of the new membership year. They aren't even sure when the renewal notices to pay your dues will come out, but they recommend everyone start paying their dues in July.
I will send your card out to you as soon as I get them. Let's make this a 100% goal year. This past year we didn't quite make it, so we need to come back as the "Can-Do" Unit. Thank you. Any questions, please call me.
Last note: Please join me at my dinner on June 13th, Saturday, 5:30PM. It will be a 3-Pork Chop dinner with cheesy scalloped potatoes (Merry Culhane's recipe), fresh veggies, the salad with so many extras, rolls and dessert. Don't miss this dinner and anyone who pays their Auxiliary dues on this night will be entered into an opportunity drawing. It will be worth it, so don't lose out on this opportunity. (Sorry guys, ladies only on this one)
Yours in Service,
Roxene McGrory

2nd Vice President's Report -
I want to thank everyone that helped me with dinners this month. (also Joe Farrell for his moral support). As my term comes to an end, I want to thank everyone that helped me all year. I would never be able to remember all the names. So I’m going to go the cowards way out, and just say thank you over and over again.
I do want to THANK Amy Moser for doing all the special event planning that sure help me a lot. Don’t know what I would have done without her. I’m hoping she can be as much help to Nancy.
I have enjoyed to 2nd Vice Job, but I’m ready to give it up, not that I won’t be around to help. But I sure want to thank Nancy for stepping up and taking it on. I think she will have some new ideas. That’s what it is all about new blood.
Thanks Again to everyone

Secretary's Report -
The Auxiliary and the SAL's would like to thank Eileen Walsh, who is a new member of the Auxiliary for planning and staging the successful "Mafia Night" event and dinner at the Post. She recruited her whole family and teachers from her school to help serve and sing with the professional karaoke performers! Red & White checkered table cloths, costumes, and candles lit up the evening! Proceeds from the raffle helped buy professional speakers for the Post, which were hooked up by Tate Sanderson to the new amplifier system that had been donated by Mike Burns (belated thank you to Mike).
