Commander's Comments -

Hello from your newly elected Commander.  It has been a busy first few weeks!  The installation ceremony went smoothly.  Special thanks go to Past Commander Kent Moser for a delicious dinner provided for the Elected Officers and Guests.

The very next day we had a Golf Tournament, engineered by Past Commander Bob Wilson and hosted by Past Commander Terry Sisson.  The staff at Lomas Santa Fe Executive Golf Course made special comments about how well our entire group teed off in a timely manner and kept moving around the course.  Thanks to all who participated.  Let’s do it again in October!

I would be remiss if I didn’t thank the outgoing officers for the excellent service they provided for Post 416.  My hope is that the steady improvement in the Post can continue under the new regime.

1ST Vice Commander's Report -

I am attending Convention.  Reports to follow.

2nd Vice Commander's Report -

Thanks to everyone for a great year at Post  416. I had a lot of things to get done and, with the helping hands and donations, some projects got done and some didn't. Those remaining jobs are on my list this year and a lot more.

The Club did well last year and this year it should do better. Thanks for your support. We always have a need for some kind of help, so if you have the time, come by!  Check our web site for new and updated events and for the latest meal schedules. By the way, cooks and kitchen help are always needed.

Looking forward,

Bill Hicks, 2nd Vice Commander

Chaplain's Report -

Thanks to the efforts of Jr Past Commander Terry Sisson and Commander Bill Steinauer, the recent Flag Retirement Ceremony, held appropriately on Flag Day, was outstandingly WELL DONE.  It is extremely sad that too many of our members decided not to attend.

Your prayers are requested for Laila Lorea.  I was informed that she passed away at 5:30 PM on June 18, 2009.  Time and date of services will be announced

President's Report -

What a beautiful installation. I would like to thank all you men and women that helped Shirley and Merry decorate the dining room and sweet Mom Louise for her dedication to all of us by serving the dinner. Thanks to Ken and his crew in the kitchen who did an exceptional perfect meal in which we all enjoyed. Thanks to all of you who came and encouraged us as we took our oath of office.

We had a round table meeting planning activities and dinners for July and August.

We’re going to have a (Happy Birthday America) July 4th with a big BBQ and Pot Luck starting at 11:00 to 3:00 open to the Public, lots of fun and games for Adults and children. Watch for Flyers and your Newsletter calendar.

Our stand Down is coming up on July 17-19. Any clothes you want to donate to the Homeless must be given to Shirley by the 10th. Our day is the 18th to help serve.

Our next Auxiliary meeting is July 7th. As new officers we want to Connect, Grow, and Serve, our veterans. I’m really looking forward to this upcoming year and working with the new officers and committee chairman’s.

Connielou Caldwell, President

1st Vice President's Report -

Membership is up and running.  Please continue to send me your dues of $15.  Am now told that the renewal membership cards may be given to Shirley at convention this week, not positive, but hopefully that will happen.  For those that have already paid me for 2010-2011, I will get your cards out to you as soon as I receive them (with your early bird stamp on them).

I want to thank the following people for helping me on my successful pork chop dinner (sorry that I advertised 3 chops-the store cut them wrong so everyone got 2 large chops).  The Post made over $280 on this dinner.  Thank you to Chris for helping me prep and her great lemon pies, Mary and Melinda for prep and serving, Mac for tickets, and all my support for cleaning up, Bill, Bob, Steve, and Pete.  I really appreciated all this help, and of course, Louise for serving. Hope I didn't forget anyone.  Lastly, haven't forgotten about the raffle for those that supported the dinner and paid their dues.  Couldn't very well have a raffle for only 4 dues-payers, so I will figure out how to make this happen in the near future - still for the ladies though.  Thank you for all of you that supported me on this dinner, now let's get rolling on the membership dues. Mail to me or drop off at the Post in a sealed envelope to my attention.  Don't forget our July 4th pot luck and see all of you at the July 7th meeting. We need a good turn out and support for our new President Connielou and her new officers.

Roxene McGrory, 1st Vice and Membership

2nd Vice President's Report -

Congratulations to all new elected officers. I am very excited to represent the women Auxiliary.  I look forward to all up and coming events throughout this next year. Please continue your support and good works.

There is a sign-up sheet in the club for the 4th of July Pot Luck.  Let’s make this the best Birthday ever.

P.S. We need cooks, cooks, and more cooks.

Thank you in advance, please come and join us.

Nancy Kiesel, 2nd Vice President
