June 2011

Commander's Comments -

Well the elections are over.  It looks like the post will have some good people running it again.  The biggest changes are Steve Scholfield as finance, Lowell Grimaud as chaplain, Darrel Hill as adjutant and Bill Steinauer as Sergeant at Arms. The 2nd Vice position is open, so if you’re interested give me a call or come to the next meeting.

Sadly, three more members have passed on this month and will miss roll call on Memorial Day. Lowell made up a great program for Memorial Day so try to make it. Some of the activities will begin at 11:20 a.m., and I will start at 11:30, so try to be early.

1ST Vice Commander's Report -

As your Membership Chairman I have no report. It’s is getting late to send them, But if you want to catch up your dues we will still take them, because it still helps our Veterans programs.

GOLF TOURNAMENT

Now that is another matter, I will take all the golfers money I can get. If you don’t sign up soon, I will have to cancel some of the T- Times and that will not be so good for my Fund Raiser.  This is how we support the Veterans program, Homeless Shelter, Stand down, Warrior Foundation, Boys State and all the other help they need over the year.  Please sign up soon, so you can get the T-Time you would like?

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, to all you recyclers but Please, Please, Please If you can take the lids off the bottles, it would save me so much time. And the frosted milk bottles, I can’t recycle them, and I have to find place to put them.  But please don’t forget me, just please help me out.  The money from the recycling is going toward our emergency fund, as our equipment is getting older and in need of repair.

1st Vice President's Report -

This will be the last newsletter for the membership year, so I am asking that any of you holding a 2010 card, please send me your $15 dues to get the 2011card.  You will need this for the club room.  If you get carded and can't show your 2011 card, well, you know what that means -you have lost your privileges as an Auxiliary member (your privileges actually expired 12/31/10) - you are delinquent.  Get me your dues by June end so that Department can keep you up to date in getting your renewal notice for 2012 mid-July or early August.  I haven't been told when the renewal notices will actually be sent, but plan on July or August.

The following need to call me regarding their dues for 2010-2011: Erma Barton, Traci Cabrera, Debra Davis, Lisa Dugger, Beatrice Ferrari, Joanne Fox, Sandra Glashan, Lea Guiltinan, Jenna Hauck, Virginia Kleinman, Maria Knef, Amanda Knef, Rita Lee, Norma Martin, Briar McConchie, Megan O'Brien, Donna Peace-Walsh, Dana Ralston, Connie Savage, Wendy Schmidt, Rhonda Smithbaker, Joanne Ward, Janis Sleasman, Susan Eldridge. Call me at 858-481-9518.  Let me know immediately of any address changes so I can notify Department and you get your renewal dues notice.

Our year end reports have all been sent in and gone to judging - good luck to all of you.  We worked our programs "hard" this year and accomplished everything we started - that's our Unit - good job and kudos to all of our Officers and Program Chair-ladies.  Next meeting is June 7th at 7PM - everyone needs to try and make this year-end meeting.

Roxene McGrory, 1st Vice and Membership

2nd Vice President's Report -

May was a very successful month for the Saturday Night Cooks-Outs.  Unfortunately we missed out on Kent's delicious steaks, but on the brighter side, he's doing great.  I'd like to say Thank You to Boson John, Kim and Duane for their Cordon Blue.  Nancy and Debra for their Incredible Pork with all the trimmings. Let's not forget the SAL's making their best meal ever.

Now for June we have the Installation Dinner - Sondra and I will be preparing a BBQ Feast.  Pork Sliders, potato salad, beans, coleslaw and a garden salad! Delicious!!!!

Please check out the Calendar on-line for all of the upcoming Saturday events.

Hope everyone enjoyed the Memorial Day Pot Luck, thanks to everyone for bringing their delicious treats.
